About the Organization
The Bharat Sevashram Sangha founded by Srimat Swami Pranavanandaji Maharaj,
the great illustrious patriot and philanthropist in the year of 1917. The headquaters of the Sangha
is situated at 211, Rashbehari Avenue, Kolkata-700019, West Bengal. The Sangha is a
philanthropic, charitable registered organisation worldwide on service to the humanity and
service to the afflicted people for 100 years. Through its pioneering works in Welfare Service,
Education, Medical and other services, Bharat Sevashram Sangha enables peoples of all ages who
are depressed, economically handicapped, backward classes and afflicted by the natural
calamities to lead independent and dynamic lives. Bharat Sevashram Sangha is a non-profit
organisation and depends entirely on the support and generosity of Individuals, Foundation and
Corporate Houses. The Sangha is purely a non-sectarian, non-communal and non-political
character, irrespective of their caste and creed.
The main aims and objectives of the Sangha are to help the distressed, to nurse the sick,
to feed the hungry and clothe the naked and provide relief and rehabilitation to the afflicted
people in times of tsunami, earthquakes, flood, famine, drought, super cyclone, Aila, cyclone,
riots and other disastrous/natural calamities.
Aims And Objectives
* To aid the distressed, nurse the sick, feed the hungry and to clothe the naked.
* To offer relief during natural disasters like, flood, famine etc.
* To redress and ameliorate the socio-economic condition of the masses with encouragement
of home industry, irrespective of caste and creed.
* To foster dissemination of the fruits of knowledge and education and come to the succor
of the infirm, invalid, afflicted mankind by installing and maintaining free academic and medical institutions and
other associations of charity in various parts of home and abroad.
* To promote moral and spiritual growth of the nation.
* To keep up and uphold the spiritual, cultural heritage of India of the distant past.
* To improve and enhance a feeling of sympathy, compassion, tolerance and union amongst
the votaries of all faiths and good will for evolving peaceful co-existence – “Live, and let live”.
* Particularly, special upliftment of the backward classes, the down-trodden and outcastes and
the tribals through educational amenities extended to them.
